The C.N.F.O
Since its founding in 2019, the CNFO has represented Ontario's Francophone Black communities before various bodies and strengthened the capacity of the organizations that serve them.
Mission
The Coalition of Francophone Black People of Ontario (CNFO) strengthens collaboration and supports the economic development of Francophone Black communities by building the capacity of the organizations and associations that serve them, so they can offer essential free financial empowerment services, namely tax filing and help accessing benefits.
Vision
The CNFO strengthens the sustainability of the Francophone Black community in Ontario by helping low- and moderate-income Francophone Black communities build a stronger financial future.

History
From the Union provinciale des minorités raciales et ethnoculturelles francophones (UPMREF) to the CNFO, a journey driven by the community.
2003
Restructuring of the provincial ACFO. Regional consultations in Ontario. Creation of a working committee to found the Union provinciale des minorités raciales et ethnoculturelles francophones (UPMREF).
2005
Official launch of the UPMREF in Ottawa. Funding granted by Canadian Heritage.
2006
First annual general meeting (AGM) of the UPMREF, held during the convention of the Assemblée de la francophonie de l'Ontario (AFO).
2007–2016
A period of organizational difficulties and leadership changes.
2017
Establishment of an ad hoc committee to begin creating the CNFO. Consultations with key organizations in the Francophone Black community, including Auberge francophone, CÉSOC, CIFS, Passerelle I.D.E. and REPFO. Official adoption of the name "Francophone Black people" (Noirs francophones) to replace "MREF".
2019
CNFO founding assembly.
2020
Official incorporation of the CNFO. Strategic meetings with institutional and political partners. Community consultations and awareness activities on racism and mental health.
2021
First annual general meeting of the CNFO. Official recognition and funding from the federal government. Launch of structuring projects, provincial consultations and adoption of the strategic plan.
