Return of the Canadian Parliament: a crucial issue for Ontario's Francophonie.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2705 On May 26, <\/strong>the return of the Canadian Parliament<\/a>took place, a key moment for Francophone communities in Ontario and elsewhere. As elected officials resume their work, the issue of the Francophonie<\/a> must remain at the heart of government priorities.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2705 The Coalition of Francophone Black People of Ontario (CNFO), true to its mission of representation, mobilization and fighting systemic inequalities, wishes to underline the importance of a strong and concrete commitment to the rights, realities and socio-economic inclusion of Francophone Black people.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2705 Our voice, too often marginalized in public policy, must be heard and fully integrated into the decisions that shape the country's future.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2705 As Parliament resumes, the CNFO calls on the federal government<\/a> to pursue and strengthen the commitments made under the International Decade for People of African Descent (2015\u20132024), as recommended by the United Nations. As the second decade begins, it is imperative that Canada keep its promises of reparation, justice and development for Black communities, notably by supporting initiatives led by and for Francophone Black people outside Quebec, who were overlooked during the first decade. It is time to move from intentions to lasting action.<\/p>\n
